I. Product Features and Performance Advantages
Titanium elbows are widely used fittings. They offer versatile angles and configurations, providing significant competitive advantages. Due to the thin, dense oxide protective layer on titanium surfaces, the material exhibits exceptional corrosion resistance in diverse water environments, even when buried in soil. Consequently, titanium elbows are suitable for numerous water quality conditions. Consequently, water quality requires only disinfection and sterilization, eliminating the need for repeated water quality control and effectively reducing costs. Using these elbow fittings prevents corrosion and excessive leaching, ensuring water purity and hygiene while avoiding secondary contamination. They can withstand high-speed water flow up to 30 meters per second for flushing.
Titanium elbows offer advantages such as high connection strength and strong vibration resistance, ensuring a secure joint in a single installation and effectively preventing joint loosening. Installation is quick and convenient, eliminating the need for on-site welding or threading operations. Titanium elbows boast a long service life. Based on actual corrosion test data, their lifespan can reach 100 years. Furthermore, titanium elbows require virtually no maintenance during normal operation, making them highly cost-effective with relatively low operating costs-a clearly economical choice.
Titanium elbows offer advantages such as waterproofing, burst resistance, fireproofing, and seismic resilience, ensuring highly reliable safety performance. With excellent thermal insulation properties, they are exceptionally well-suited for conveying hot water.
Titanium elbows offer reliable and secure connections, convenient and swift installation, excellent health and environmental performance, minimal flow and pressure loss, strong system compatibility, and suitability for both exposed and concealed installation. Requiring no updates or maintenance, they deliver superior economic performance and broad applicability. They are ideal for low-pressure fluid conveyance in residential settings such as hot/cold water, direct drinking water, heating, air conditioning, fire protection, and gas systems, as well as for pharmaceutical and potable low-pressure fluid transport in materials, food, and chemical industries.
On-site installation of titanium elbows is exceptionally convenient. Installation time is only one-third that of welding pipe fittings or threading, significantly shortening construction cycles, reducing material consumption, and preventing leaks. These elbows require adherence to specific methods and principles during connection and use, offering excellent installation characteristics and practical value.
II. Process Description
One of the most common processes for manufacturing elbows from titanium tubing is the mandrel method, a hot forming technique.
In this method, the tubing is cut to the required length and pushed through using a hydraulic ram. An induction heating coil heats the tubing, which is then forced through a die called a "mandrel." This die allows the tubing to expand and bend simultaneously.
This method can produce elbows across a wide range of diameters. In this diagram, you can see the pipe being cut to the desired length in the first step. This cut pipe is then placed onto the mandrel. Next, with the aid of hydraulic tools, the pipe is pushed into the die while induction coils heat the pipe to form the elbow. Finally, the elbow is sent for heat treatment and machining before undergoing visual and dimensional inspection.
